SAAVUTETTAVUUSTIEDOT: THE QUEER GALA 2023
Saapuminen:
Valkoinen sali sijaitsee osoitteessa Aleksanterinkatu 16 Senaatintorin kulmalla Torikortteleissa. Paikalle pääsee parhaiten julkisilla liikennevälineillä. Lähin raitiovaunupysäkki on Senaatintorin pysäkki, joka sijaitsee 180 metrin päässä. Paikalle pääsee myös metrolla: Helsingin yliopiston metroasema on 450 metrin päässä. Sisäänkäynti:
Valkoinen Sali on saavutettava liikkumisen apuvälineitä käyttäville. Aleksanterinkatu 16:n sisäänkäynti on täysin esteetön. Sisään käydään porttikongin ja sisäpihan kautta.
Reitti on opastettu, tasainen ja riittävän leveä (yli 1,5 m) sekä valaistu. Sisäpihan oven ulkopuolella on riittävästi vapaata tilaa liikkumiselle esim. pyörätuolin kanssa. Sisään pääsee myös Katariinankadulta, Goviniuksen pihalta ja El Fant -kahvilan kautta, mutta nämä reitit eivät ole täysin esteettömiä.
Invataksin on mahdollista pysähtyä porttikongin eteen Aleksanterinkadulle, mutta tarvittaessa myös suoraan ovelle sisäpihan puolelle.
Hissi ja kerroksissa liikkuminen:
Valkoinen Sali sijaitsee Helsingin kaupunginmuseon tiloissa. Kaupunginmuseo on liikkumisesteetön. Jokaiseen kerrokseen pääsee sekä hissillä että portaita pitkin. Valkoinen sali sijaitsee kolmannessa kerroksessa.
Hissiin mahtuu pyörätuoli ja hissin ovi aukeaa automaattisesti. Hissin kerrosnumerot ovat sormin tunnusteltavissa. (Esteettömän hissin vähimmäismitat ovat leveys 1,1 m ja syvyys 1,4 m.)
Sisätilojen ovet erottuvat selkeästi. Lasiovissa on kontrastimerkinnät.
Salonki:
Salonki on baaritila, johon vieraat saapuvat heti narikan jälkeen ja jossa vietetään aikaa sekä väliajalla, että tapahtuman virallisen osuuden loputtua. Salongista pääsee juhlasaliin isoista sivuovista. Salongin ja juhlasalin välissä on madallettu kynnys.
Juhlasali:
Tapahtuman ohjelma tapahtuu juhlasalissa. Gaalaosuuden aikana istutaan. Saliin on myös varattu reilun kokoisia pyörtuolipaikkoja. Paikat sijoitetaan niin, että näkyvyys on niiltä yhtä hyvä kuin muualtakin. Katsomon tuolit ovat leveydeltään 50 cm ja syvyydeltään 40 cm. Tuoleissa ei ole käsinojia.
Juhlasalissa on kiinteä induktiosilmukka. Salissa on esteellinen lava, mutta lavan eteen nousee lattiasta esteetön lavanjatke, jota tulemme käyttämään lavanamme tapahtuman aikana.
WC:t:
Tilassa on yksi esteetön ja useampi esteellinen wc.
Vessat ovat sukupuolineutraalit.
Muita saavutettavuushuomioita:
Avustajat ja tulkit voivat osallistua gaalaan ilmaiseksi.

voimakkaita hajusteita!
Tiloissa ei käytetä välkkyviä valoja eikä savukonetta. Tapahtumassa on musiikki- ja tanssiesityksiä, jotka sisältävät kovia ääniä. Lava on esitysten aikana kirkkaasti valaistu. Siirtymien aikana (alussa, lopussa ja väliajalla) valot pidetään riittävän kirkkaina koko tilassa, jotta näkyvyys on hyvä. Tapahtuma sisältää noin 40 min mittaisen väliajan. Taukojen aikana soi taustamusiikki.
Tapahtumassa juonto sekä suuri osa ohjelmasta on kaksikielistä (suomi ja englanti). Tilaisuudessa on käytössä kaiuttimet ja tilassa on koko katsomon kattava kiinteä induktiosilmukka. Puheen lisäksi ehdokkaiden ja palkintojen saajat lukevat juontojen mukana vaihtuvassa diaesityksessä. Ilmoitamme muista tulkkausmahdollisuuksista pian!

Huomaathan, että tapahtuman ikäraja on K18, sillä tapahtumassa tarjoillaan alkoholia.

Noudatamme tapahtumissa turvallisemman tilan ja suojaisan yhteisön periaatteita. Tapahtumassa on lisäksi paikalla turvallisemman tilan henkilö ja häirintäyhdyshenkilöitä, joiden tiedot kerrotaan tapahtumaan osallistuville. Narikka on vartioitu.
Gaalatiimi on perehdytetty tilan saavutettavuusratkaisuihin, ja neuvoo tarvittaessa niihin liittyen paikan päällä!

ACCESSIBILITY INFO: THE QUEER GALA 2023
Arrival:
Valkoinen sali is located at Aleksanterinkatu 16 on the corner of Senaatintori in Torikortteli. The easiest way to get there is by public transport. The closest tram stop is the Senaatintori stop, which is 180 meters away. You can also get there by metro: the University of Helsinki metro station is 450 meters away. Entrance:
Valkoinen sali is accessible to people using mobility aids. The entrance at Aleksanterinkatu 16 is accessible. You enter through the portico to the courtyard. The route is guided, flat and sufficiently wide (more than 1.5 m) and there is enough lighting. Outside the door, there is enough free space for movement, e.g. with a wheelchair.
You can also enter from Katariinankatu, Govinius yard and El Fant cafe, but these routes are not completely accessible.

It is possible for a taxi to stop in front of the portico on Aleksanterinkatu, but if necessary, you can also drive to the courtyard right in front of the door.

Elevator and moving between floors:
Valkoinen sali is located in the premises of the Helsinki City Museum. The museum is accessible. Each floor can be accessed both by elevator and by stairs. Valkoinen salil is located on the third floor.

The elevator can accommodate a wheelchair and the elevator door opens automatically. The elevator floor numbers can be felt with your fingers. (The minimum dimensions of an accessible lift are 1.1 m wide and 1.4 m deep.)

The interior doors are clearly marked and the glass doors have contrasting markings.
Salon:
The salon is a bar area where guests arrive after the cloakroom and where they spend time both during the interval and after the official part of the event. From the salon you can reach the ballroom through large side doors. There is a lowered threshold between the salon and the ballroom.
Ballroom:
The program and gala portion of the event happens in the ballroom. During the gala part guests will be seated. Wheelchair spaces have also been reserved and they are placed so that the visibility is as good from them as from anywhere else. The chairs in the ballroom are 50 cm wide and 40 cm deep. The chairs do not have armrests.

The ballroom has a fixed induction loop. The big stage is not accessible, so we will use an accessible stage extension which rises from the floor in front of the stage.

Toilets:
The space has one accessible and several non-accessible toilets. The toilets are gender neutral.
Other accessibility considerations:
Personal assistants and interpreters can participate in the gala for free. Guide dogs are welcome. Please consider others and do not wear strong perfumes at the event!

We will not use flashing lights or a smoke machine. The event features music and dance performances that contain loud sounds. The stage is brightly lit during the performances. During transitions (at the beginning, at the end and in the interval), the lights are kept bright enough in the entire space so that visibility is good. The event includes an interval of about 40 minutes. During the breaks there will be background music playing.

In the event, the presenting will be done by two hosts (one in Finnish, one in English) and the performances will also suit a multilingual audience. Loudspeakers are used at the event and the space has a fixed induction loop covering the entire space. In addition to the speech, the nominees and award recipients will also be written on a slide show behind the stage. We will announce other possible interpretation arrangements soon!

Please note that the age limit for the event is 18, as alcohol is served at the event.
​
We follow the principles of a safer space and a secure community. In addition, there will be safer space persons and harassment contact persons present at the event, whose information will be shared with the guests. The cloakroom is also guarded.
The Gala team is familiar with the space's accessibility solutions, and will advise on them on the spot if necessary !
